Description

Education is the drive of human development! In this age of knowledge and development of the technology of information and communication the traditional educational process (face-to-face) is completed and/or replaced by the Open and Distance learning (IDD) (including e-learning) as an opportunity enabling the learner the opportunity of integration in the educational process when he/she has the time, using his/her own learning rate and at a chosen location.

This project ’DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A MONITORING, CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT AND QUALITY ASSESSMENT SYSTEM IN HIGHER OPEN AND DISTANCE EDUCATION BASED ON THE PERFORMANCE INDICATORS AND INTERNATIONAL QUALITY STANDARDS’ co-financed by FSE and POSDRU 2007 – 2013, Major field of intervention 1.2. ’The University for the Future’ aims at supporting the Romanian higher education providing for innovative, integrated instruments, based on the excelence standards used in European and worldwide for the development of this form of higher education.

Specific objectives

The specific objectives of the project aim at the development, design, implementation, testing and dissemination of certain efficient instruments and performances of quality assurance in higher education that might enable the attainment of the general objective:

(1) Elaboration of an auditing methodology on the quality of distance learning ;

(2) Defining a system of performence indicators on the quality of distance learning and benchmarking system;

(3) Elaborating  a system of distance learning quality auditing based on the following standards: AICC, SCORM and the E-xcellence (2009) model elaborated by the European Association of Distance …

The overall objective

The general objective of this project is the quality improvement of higher education in Romania by drafting, validating and implementing a methodology and a monitoring, improvemenet and open and distance learning assessment procedure (IDD) in accordance with the specific international quality standards.

This objective derives from the Lisbon Agenda and from the requirements of the knowledge-based society which claims for highly qualified specialists, capable of long life learning and in various contexts of instruction and training proper for the 21st century.

Target group

The target group consists of the following categories of individuals:

-          experts in assessment and accreditation of the national higher education quality assessment commissions

-          members of the university/faculty quality assessment commissions

-          members of the university/faculties management

-          executives,, monitoring, assessment and control officials in higher education

staff involved in the development and management of qualifications and the National Qualifications Framework in Higher Education, at the system level

-          personnel involved in the elaboration of policies in higher education

-          personnel involved in the development of the university/faculty management of qualifications

-          students

-          personnel involved in the development of university studies

The composition of the target group observes the principles of the equality of chances and of non-discriminartion.
